Congrats to Barry Underwood, recipient of the Monthly Award (for February 2011) and $2,500 prize! His images are documentations of dioramas and full-scale installations that are built on-site in the landscapes. Using this process as a means to explore ideas of illusion, imagination, narrative and the potential of the ordinary, Mr. Underwood approaches his work with a theatrical sensibility that references contemporary painting, cinema and land art. Great work Barry! Information about our selection process can be found on our site.
