Intermixing an exhibition, dance party and artistic pampering, the artist Swoon hosts a pop-up beauty shop like no other to help rebuild the ravaged town of Braddock, PA with art. Artists such as Mickalene Thomas, Dzine, Dustin Yellin, Swoon, Duke Riley, Natalie Frank, K8 Hardy and many, many more will be donating their talents to sculpting hair, painting nails and doing you up, while Dj Roofeeo, Dirtyfinger, Manhate and 3 Kings International Sound make you shake your body. Special installations and performances by Lady Circus' Anya Sapozhnikova, Marshall LaCount and others will also be presented. $20 suggested donation.

Comprising over 100 works, Leigh Ledare's first solo exhibition opens at Wiels Contemporary Art Centre in Brussels tomorrow evening. Leigh Ledare, et al. boasts examples from nearly all of Ledare's photographic series to date, as well as video works, text-based pieces, and several newly produced pieces never shown before. Using these mediums to explore human agency, social relationships, taboos, Ledare's Leigh Ledare, et al. will be on view through November. Click here to learn more >>


Culminating in one final experience, the days of Honey Space will come to a close with a self titled exhibition opening tonight at 6pm. Bringing the life-cycle of the space full-circle, Honey Space takes the form of an exhibition of sculptures as well as a celebration of the space itself. After opening its doors in 2007, the space will be dismantled brick by brick come the close of the exhibition later this month. In a solo exhibition from London-based artist Kevin Francis Gray, several porcelain, bronze and marble sculptures are currently on view at London's Haunch of Venison, including a group of 12 porcelain heads titled Twelve Chambers, a reference to hip hop group Wu Tang Clan. Gray's signature aesthetic, rendered in a classical figurative style with a postmodern twist, contextualizes his work firmly within the visual landscape of contemporary society. More info >>


Computers Have A Lot To Answer For is a 40 year retrospective of Storm Thorgerson's photographic prints. Working without the aid of digital technology, Thorgerson's reality-bending vision, maximalist style, and unparalleled photo montage produced many of the defining images of music culture in the 20th century.
