ADRIANA GATTI Las esculturas en plástico y los objetos que integran esta muestra, combinan el arte conceptual y la artesanía, el glamour y el erotismo en un obra que transforma hasta lo inesperado los materiales –botellas y potes de plástico principalmente, pero también caucho, alambre y elementos orgánicos-, sometiéndolos a diversas fuentes de calor. Nadie parece haber ido tan lejos como esta artista en la escultura con plásticos reciclados, atraída como está por los volúmenes, la investigación del universo femenino y el mundo de la alta costura. Piezas de tamaño casi humano realizadas con deshechos, que más que denunciar la cantidad de residuos que producimos y su impacto, se detienen a descubrir y constatar el esplendor de la materia. Esta fascinación por el fuego que transforma los desechos y convierte a lo pobre en rico, rompe los límites sociales entre lo que hay que consumir y lo que ya ha sido consumido. Eligiendo esto último como material y soporte de su obra, Adriana Gatti descubre en lo ya perdido una belleza ignorada y encuentra en la basura turbación, fragilidad y resplandor, cualidades sensoriales de las formas y de la luz. Así, la atracción por el fuego y el deseo de restituirle a lo que descartamos la condición de belleza, produce una obra que hechiza y pone en evidencia - como ha dicho Genet refiriéndose a Rembrandt- que hasta lo más miserable tiene en el mundo su destello. María Teresa Andruetto | ADRIANA GATTI The plastic sculptures and the objects shown in this exhibition, combine conceptual art and craftsmanship, glamour and erotism in a work that changes the materials as a whole – mainly bottles and plastic pots, but also rubber, wire and organic elements subjecting them to different sources of heat. It seems that nobody has done so much as this artist in sculptures with recycled plastic, attracted by the volumes, the research of the feminine universe and the world of high fashion. Pieces of almost human size made with broken pieces that instead of showing the quantity of waste we produce and their impact, they discover and confirm the splendour of the material. This fascination for the fire that transform the waste and turn poor into rich, breaks the social limits between what has to be consumed and what has been consumed. Choosing this last thing as the material and support of her work, Adriana Gatti discovers in what is lost an unknown beauty and finds in waste worry, fragility and brilliance, sensory qualities of shapes and light. In this way, the attraction for the fire and the hope of giving back the condition of beauty to what we reject. She produces pieces that fascinate and make clear -as Genet has said referring to Rembrandt- that up to the most miserable thing in the world has its beauty. María Teresa Andruetto |
