The story of you: "My father taught me what I know about painting. I can't remember most of what he said to me, but it's in there, somewhere in my prefrontal dorsalateral cortex. Having good paper and clean brushes is more important than one would guess. I draw very lightly in a hard hard pencil, like a Turquoise brand 6H. I build thin layers of color working sometimes fast, sometimes slow. Also important is a Zen like, calm mind. Focused entirely on the task. Alpha wave breathing. Serenity. I often have jazz music, New Age, like Windham Hill playing as I paint. I love making art. I love the moment of creation, the feeling. I love it."
