The new 47,000 square-foot building will provide up-to-date classrooms and labs for the following programs: RN and LPN nursing programs, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, Dental Assisting and Licensed Massage Therapy. The building will be three levels and will be easily accessible from College Way. The College seeks to commission art works for the exterior and interior of the building. The majority of the funding will be allocated to purchasing the external art work. Interior art may be of different types: ceiling suspended, free standing, and wall mounted or hung. The art will resonate with the energy and vibrancy of the campus, educational mission of the College and the purposes of the building. COCC has six other permanent art installations on campus: Full Circle by Judy Speidel, Cascade Leaf by Robert Gherke, She Who Watches by Lillian Pitt, Alcove by Michael Boonstra, Angkor Wat II by Lee Kelly, and Landscape Elements by Betty Feves. The Embracing Our Differences exhibit will be displayed throughout the months of April and May 2012 at Island Park along Sarasota's beautiful bayfront.
