OPEN JURIED ART SHOW - Water Street Studios Second Anniversary Show

Water Street Studios, in Batavia, Illinois, is soliciting artwork for its Second Anniversary juried show.

There is a nonrefundable submission application fee of $30. Water Street Studios Artist Members receive a one time $10 discount per year on their application. 

Non Renting Artist commission structure is as followed: 60% to the Artist / 40% to the Water Street Gallery.

Batavia Artists Association at Water Street Studios is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization devoted to expanding art in Batavia, Illinois and the surrounding communities. By converting an historic limestone building in downtown Batavia we have created an amazing 16,000 sq ft arts center featuring 28 artist studios, three classrooms and a premier gallery for showcasing fine art.

Dates to Remember:                                                      

  • The artwork submission deadline is August 28th, 2011(Artists will be notified within two weeks of submission date)
  • Drop off Date: September 17th (noon - 3 pm)
  • Exhibition period: September 30 - December 31
  • Art Work Pick Up: January 9th  (noon - 3 pm)

Eligibility Criteria:

The Water Street Studios art awareness program is open to all visual artists.

Media:

 All forms of media may be considered.

Subject Matter:

While Water Street Studios looks forward to displaying a variety of media and subject matter, the artwork must be appropriate for a public setting and for viewing by all age groups. Artwork that would be considered offensive or disturbing to the general public i.e. work depicting sex or violence may not be selected for display. 

Artistic Integrity:

Works must be original. Photo-reproductions or prints of original works are not eligible.

Guest Juror:  Corey Postiglione

Corey Postiglione received his BA in Studio Arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Masters Degree
in Art History and Critical Theory from the School of The Art Institute Chicago.  He has had over twelve solo
exhibitions and has been included in numerous group shows. His critical writing has been published in Artforum, The New Art Examiner, and Dialogue

How to Apply: 

Artists may submit up to 4 pieces for consideration. Artists interested in submitting artwork for display consideration must submit a completed Gallery Application Packet.
